WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is working on a new message menu for viewing images and videos together. The goal is to improve the app's interface.
Currently, there is an icon in the caption bar that allows users to view media at once. According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update reveals plans to change how users view images and videos.
To view an image once, users will need to press and hold the send button. A new menu will appear, giving the option to send the image as a one-time view.
Similar improvements are being made for videos, but GIFs cannot be sent in this mode yet. WhatsApp may enable GIFs in the future. The "view once" feature will also be expanded to include text and audio messages.
A new message menu is being developed and will be available in future updates. Additionally, WhatsApp is reportedly allowing users to edit media captions after sending them.
This means captions for photos, GIFs, documents, and videos can be changed.
